The company became fully independent in October, 1997, with a management and employee buy-out. It is now owned by its staff of 100 people.

The company was originally formed as the research and development arm of the UK electricity industry in the 1960's. It became semi-independent in the early 1990's and has rapidly developed a culture which focuses on delivering technological solutions which are commercially practicable and valuable, whilst maintaining the highest standards of intellectual endeavour.

EA Technology operates as a fully commercial business, marketing its products and services in the UK and worldwide.

International Operations

In 1998 EA Technology was selected by the New Zealand government to carry out a review of the ministerial inquiry into the Auckland power failure - one of the most serious outages ever to occur in the developed world. The appointment was the clearest reflection of the company's growing global standing as a world leader in energy-related technologies.

EA Technology's skills and solutions are being used in many countries to improve the efficiency, reliability and profitability of a wide range of companies involved with the application and usage of energy.

The company also acts as an international focal point for conferences, meetings and seminars on topics ranging from electrochemical processing and electrical storage systems, to new developments in electrically-powered vehicles.
